Contest Number: 147 Contest Theme: Negative Space Lens: Pentax M 28/3.5 Camera: Pentax K-7 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: grey goat, 11-05-2018, 08:16 AM

I made this image with my Pentax K-7 and newly purchased M 28/3.5 in the early afternoon light on a mid-winter day. The play of light and shadow on the edge of the door and beyond caught my eye, and I hurried to get the K-7 before the light changed. Often I'm too late to catch the light, but this time I got back before the light changed. This image remains one of my favorites in my digital-era catalog.

The aperture noted above, f5.6, is a best guess on my part, though the K-7 did make note of the shutter speed (1/200 sec.) and ISO (400).

What a hoot! I hope your contractor knows where to find doorknobs like this. (A lot of times, places such as ReStore have stuff like this. So if you can't find it new, maybe you can find it used.)

Anyway, thanks! . . . And good luck finding those doorknobs!

Thanks for the comments, jrferrermn! It's hard to let light like that slip by when it comes to subjects like this. Sometimes I'm too slow, but this time I was quick enough.

Take care,

Thanks, françois! It's good to know an image makes a statement--and that someone gets it, too.

Happy New Year!
