Contest Number: 154 Contest Theme: Macro - Flowers and Plants Lens: PENTAX 55-300DA/W-Hoya #4 & #2 close up lenes Camera: Pentax K 1 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F11 06-15-2019, 10:22 AM
After attempting shots with a vintage (1970) RICOH extension tube and mounted with a vintage RICOH Bayonet 1:f 2.8 35 mm lens, I was not satisfied....I went to a manual focus 1984 RICOH 70 to 210 Zoom set to macro and added HOYA #4 & # 2 close up lenses...still not satisfied. I finally put on the 55-300 AF DA with the same close up lenses. I shot at 55 mm and used the smallest aperture I could and still maintain some shutter speed as the conditions were breezy.ISO was 800... I took hundreds of images. When I had a visiting creature, I just thought, how nice. For transparency sake, I used a heavy crop to square final image which should show about 3X flower/insect size ...love... PS,For reference sake, the little yellow flower parts are smaller that a pin head... My shooting all happened over a four day period with several subjects, and my submitted image was taken on the 14th on my last shoot.
