To me, this film image is beautiful. It is of my wife and son on the day my son was born, and was taken in the hospital room. He's our only child and this remains the best day of my life. I believe this image captures the beauty of the day, and of new life. It was taken with a Pentax K1000, SMC 50mm f1.7, and Ilford HP5 film. Developed in Kodak HC110. This is a scan, but we have a silver gelatin print hanging in our home.

As the very first portrait of a baby and new mother, this is perfect, capturing the pride and affection of the mother as she looks upon the sleeping babe.
