"When the spell is broken" offers nature and life at a moment of transformation. Delicate and powerful, the image feels like all seasons at once -- as if the trees were budding, blooming, sparse of leaves, and bare in a flurry of snow --
perfect for the current autumnal transition which randomly bounces from one season to another daily until eventually settling into winter.* Because of the colors, it could be either sun-lit or moon-lit which adds to the magic and fairy-like filigree. The landscape also seems filled with melancholy and longing -- something beyond that is untouchable or unknowable.* The title is equally poetic, emotional, and thought provoking. I feel as if I'm high up in one of the trees, about to soar into or out of a dream.* Breathtaking! NOMINATED!*
