Great photos all round. Came down to "would that look the best on the lounge room wall, and will I ever tire of it". In the end picked one I hadn't pre-polled.

Same here, I must admit that my choice was dictated by the desire to find out what was photographed. They're all great.

I choose #15, the lighthouse in the storm, followed by #2, #4 and #6.
Why?
#15 brings us a real situation, it's a 'reporter picture', the ones that made Pentax famous in the South Korean war between reporters using the never too much grorified Leica and I put thi kind of picturing as the most meaningful way to use a camera: to SHARE and diffuse the less known REALITIES!
#2 shows an astonishing natural beauty but I fear it was already 'postprocessed' a bit too much to enhance it (if not, CHAPEAU!)
#4 shares the same reasons: the Nature as the photographer had the rare opportunity to see and the goodness to share, hopefully not 'artefacted'
#6 because black and white are seductive like a woman longing for a hug, isn't it? :-)

12 & 13 are my "which one" shots. I didn't pick # 13, my favorite...There is serious excellence in it. However, I vote for #12 because it is dynamic on too many points to list them all. Well done are both of these because they passed beyond focus, proper exposure, composition, and subject matter. Technically superb,they carried me into the realm of photographic art. Congratulations to every nominee...super fine submissions all.

I completely agree with this statement. But, I'm just as sure we are talking about different photos. All are just outstanding, worthy of any gallery presentation anywhere.
