Alpineglow is a common occurrence during Alaskan winters, with short days and long sunsets and rises. This particular alpineglow was a real outlier, however, in its intensity. After more than a decade living in Alaska, I've never before witnessed such a painfully vibrant alpineglow. Believe it or not, I even reduced the saturation in this shot.

This photo was taken in the Talkeetna Mountains at Independence Mine State Historic Site up Archangel Rd after a fresh powdery snowfall.

Thanks for consideration in this contest and the amazing support and wealth of knowledge this community offers. Being new to Pentax, I find myself coming here often for expertise.
