Claret Cup Cactus

At over one meter wide, this claret cup cactus (Echinocereus triglochidiatus) is the largest I've ever seen. I estimate that it had over 200 flowers blooming at once. These cacti grow in the very dry southwest deserts of the United States and Mexico. This one is located in Utah.
