If not for the the "golden hour" moment, I didn't have a lot of color in my part of North Carolina. Nonetheless, to walk out on my deck I can only describe as enchanting.

After five inches of rain, the creek had swollen to a torrent. Yet, the stillness of the air and the warmth of the tree leaves caused me to grab my camera. I held it against the deck rail for a one second SS.

The intense sun was setting to the left (see the bit of yellow in some leaves by the tall tree) behind the trees and caused some under exposure. Yet, a little tweaking (I pushed to cool and added magenta, for the sky was washed out) and I have an image ( a little soft) perhaps worthy of entering.

I didn't use rule of thirds, but let the spread of the large white oak (nearly 5' diameter at the base and about 70' high) speak it's own majesty. ...love...
