Contest Number: 175 Contest Theme: Portrait Lens: Ricoh 50mm 1.8 prime manual F. Camera: RICOH XRP Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F1.8

i submit this image of my wife, Laura Lee (1952-2013). At her passing we had been married thirty two years. after a little over two years of marriage, I took my RICOH XRP SLR, flash head, tripod, etc when away from home on a business trip. She came with me and we planned a shoot in our hotel room. The light came from a shaded incandescent bulb, and my flash, which I bounced off the ceiling. She is wearing a white muscle shirt. She always proved a perfect model, moving and posing at my direction--or by her own whim--she was a natural. I must note that the camera settings are a best guess, for I have forgotten.them. I was using Agfachrome slide film, ASA 100,
When I post edited it to black and white (after she passed), I felt her soul again. Only recently have I shown this image--finally beginning to accepting her death. We had a deep and abiding love. She is with her Lord now...love...

Thank You,djfriedt, You know there was something special when Laura would look at me, not the camera. I know it's a good image...one of my favorite of all time--and it was a film shot. I still have two working as intended RICOH XRP's I am so happy they took the reins of PENTAX. I think our shooting future is in good hands!
