I just want to voice out my 2 cents here because this came up quite often when I hosted the night photo walk before the pandemic. Some people among beginner worried / hesitated to show their post-processed photos because they worry people would say something like their work is photoshopped, etc
IMHO, I view photography as an "Art", and I think it common for any artist to use a variety of technic and tools in both pre and post-process on their artwork.
Will the technics implemented by individual artist works? well, Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
As for me, I think artists shouldn't hold back on their creativity.
In particular, If we didn't do "Photojournalism" in which the photo should be a capture of an event with little to no creative spin.
