Btw, I was born within ten miles of that monument and have been looking at it from every angle all my life. It's my favorite, and TJ one of my very best favorite politicians of all time (and I was a history major). I've never thought to see it this way (angle and time of day). Very impressive photograph.
One note, though - what's the black object or speck in the middle of the sixth column from the right?
Thank you very much! And I see what you're asking about; I really can't say, at first I thought it might be a pinhole in the negative but I checked it and it's definitely part of the image.

Many thanks! It's one of the many wonderful tonal attributes of Verichrome Pan.

Much appreciated! It was a fortuitous combination of lighting, a great lens, and a great film; the negatives even look luminous coming out of the tank!
