Antiset, the anti-sunset photo
Contest Number: 192 Contest Theme: Dramatic Sky Lens: Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM Camera: K3 mk2 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F3.5
Posted By: catwalk, 08-31-2022, 09:32 PM

This brings me back, I had just gotten my Sigma 10-20 and took it out for a test drive. At the time I lived in Tucson, AZ, I miss the amazing landscapes and skyscapes there...

As I was heading down one of the canyons on the south side of Mt Lemon there was a fantastic sunset thru the storm clouds, and yet the sunset was not the interesting part. In the eastern sky loomed this massive roiling cloud, turned sepia due to the sunset in the dusty sky. And I happened to be standing right below it. Rattlesnakes were all around me, but I just had to stay behind and snap some photos of that incredible cloud.

Hope you like it!
-Scott

This cloud formation was in the eastern sky, opposite the sunset.

Great texture and movement, almost liquid. Ominous feeling.
