I do know the rules and have no excuse. I apologize for breaking them. Will not happen again.

with other posts I've seen. Usually I have a hard time picking just the necessary small number of photos to vote for, but this time my first pass through only resulted in two I felt worthy of voting for. Maybe it's the summer or something, but this contest does not seem to have sparked the usual superlative pictures to try and weed out.

I am not saying I could have done any better! I might have been able to, more likely not, but I don't know. Only two actually caught my attention so I voted for those two.

Regardless, even a collection of photos like this is beneficial: I'm seeing what type of pictures doesn't catch my eye, seeing why, and hope to use that to guyide my own photography.

Those damn little white letters PENTAX - It's a curse, but one we learn to live with.

Hey Gus, have you tried a strip of black electrical tape over those white letters? I've been tempted to do it myself, having experienced some of the same non-invited attention...
