This month is not good as previous month, I guess subject was too broad this time, people searched their archives to find something green, like me. I also saw 3-4 pictures messed too much with colors looking very artificial to me.

Wow lots of entries. I have never seen so much green and while there are some great shots there are also some clever shots (both got my votes) - congrats to all who participated.

Lots of great entries, as usual, but I was surprised to see so few just jump out at me. There were lots of photos I liked, but only a few that actually seemed to strike me as being imaginative. Which is why I didn't enter. When I first saw the category, I got all excited, then realized I couldn't really think of anything that wouldn't have already been taken as a way of illustrating "green". Congratulations to all that entered!!

I think both comments apply, but the first is a litte unfar because unless the contest is to take something in the month of september, this will happen. People also probably don't search the archives, but can remember a specific shot they took for some of the subjects. I would never search all 50,000 of my images just to see if I had something to enter, I would know esactly whare a shot worthy of entering was in my archives.

I would be all for a requirement that the photos are new (i.e. in the month of the contest)

Some really nice images here.. Some are a little over done, but hey it's good to mix it up. One or two stand outs for me.

Ya know, I don't think this is a fair or accurate statement in the least. Even if people did pull images from their archives, how are you to know that GREEN (in this case) was not the predominent thought or theme when they shot the photo. Speaking for myself and the photo I submitted, that was indeed the central idea for even taking the photo. In that case, it does not matter in the least when an image was taken.

As for this month's submissions not being as good as last month's (they must really be crappy since you didn't think much of last month's submissions either), I disagree. Numerous outstanding and "appropriate to the theme" photos.

Lowell, I personally would oppose the idea of restricting the monthly competitions to photos taken during the month of the challenge. First, it would seriously delay entries unless the themes were announced a month ahead. And second, I think such a requirement would likely severely cut down on the number and quality of submissions. Everyone simply does not have an equal opportunity to shoot any given genre or subject in any given month. There are also existing opportunities in the Mini Challenges forum that meet that requirement.

There are some excellent images entered. Congrats to all how took the time to enter. I find that whether a picture moves me or not if each are briefly studied something can be learned

Lots of good options to choose from here. Thought the voting would be easy until I kept scrolling down. Lots of great shots and styles.

What I meant was, like we are being asked from our photo club frequently to submit photos with main theme of "Trabzon" (the city I live), then I search my archives, but I never ever intended to take a photo of with main subject of Trabzon, but I have zillions of'em. Now we know without exception every photographer takes shots of something green, but how many photographer I know of going out and intending to take photos with the predominant thought of just "Green"? None. Oh yes I am not the photography reference here, then you tell me how many percent would do that? 10% ??

I wasn't gonna answer that just because of the smiley placed before your sentence, but for the sake of the comradeship, I forgive you Bro. :ugh:. Well, I didn't say they weren't good, what I said was audience don't know or care about art photos in the sense of fine art photography, which is perfectly normal for basically a hardware forum (stupid me), but instead people love pictorial eye-catching photos with a good technique. I certainly loved most previous months photos. If you remember the B&W photo of a ship with with ropes, that was a museum quality photo, for instance.

Mike, actually I am in precess of adaptation of the competitions, what I learned here is determining the audiences preferences in competitions is most important thing, and I am thinking loudly. This forum is a great opportunity for me. Sorry if I sound irritating sometime.
