Wow, what a nice series! It will be hard to pick the best, the more so because some 'frames' are rather subtle. But I think they all fit the theme nicely....Well done everybody!!

Some great interpretations of the theme. On the whole, a great selection. Good work to all who entered, and of course, good luck!

Globalement la serie est magnifique. La difficulté sera de choisir entre ce qui est évident et ce qui est suggeré. Grande qualité.

I'm curious as to know why we can choose upto 9 images. In any case, there are some very good takes on the theme here. I thought it could have been a little difficult but I managed to find 9. Good luck to all.

Great shots.....but to browse thru' 90 great pictures is quite a task....I wanted to get the new K-X, has anyone tried it? How does it feels? In terms of ergonomics...I am very particular on the ergonomics of the camera....I am using the K100d super

90 shots to choose from -> 9 to choose?

Anyway, decent bunch of images and obviously people have done their homework and browsed through the previous entries of the same theme both here and in dpreview!

It was a stretch to pick the 9 for me, as lots of them gave a quick first impression that they are nice, but you look closely and too many technical and composition flaws. I think it is a hard subject to really keep the "frame" filled with just enough to hold the eye without too many distractions.

I agree - it's going to be a stretch. I see lots of nice images that are well framed, but I am not seeing a second contained frame with subject matter inside them. Technically, I think a majority of the entries miss the target. - Or, it could just be me.

Thanks to all who submitted beautiful and inspirational photos.

A procedural question: In future contests, might there be a way for a voter to effectively indicate if one image is, in the voter's opinion, far superior to the others? I'm asking for a system of weighted voting.

Thanks very much.

Just submitted my vote. Well done to all of the participants. I hope to get off my gleutus maximus and submit for next month's "portrait in B&W" contest. :-P

I think you're missing the point of artistic interpretation. The subject is purposely vague enough that anyone can interpret it however they want. I did not consider your interpretation at all when I read the subject matter. why does everyone have to see it the same way you do?

edit: I'm not sure what you people are complaining about, I had trouble picking only 9. I kept having to go back and delete selections whenever I came across ones I liked better. This series is way better than last month's. You guys need to stop looking at pictures so technically (although I did use technical flaws to make final decisions)

This is my first time participating and my first time voting.

I like the system. We all have slightly different judging criteria, but with 9 votes times how many voters we have, there will be humps of votes around, i think, some very worthy contenders. It makes it simple for the counters to add up all the votes and see where there was a consensus.

Very creative and attractive submittals; it was fun going through them. good luck all.
