Looks that way from the manual, AtitG. Will need to use the cable I've got to hold it above and to the side of the subject for P-TTL.

Has anyone received theirs yet? I've been told now it'll be mid-November. I don't mind if it's a delay for getting a good firmware on it or similar reason.

There seems to be plenty in stock at various places.
None are showing up as sold on eBay, but seller 6ave has kits for under $670.
The kits are body, spare battery, 32GB generic card, and a camera bag.

Another seller has body only for $650.18 with free shipping.

Being offered online doesn't seem to be the problem, Rob, that's how I ordered.

I'd be interested if you hear of anyone who's received theirs! :-)

So far there is one production model on display here at the main branch of Camerahaus in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila.

It seems to have some ... notable features for an entry-level camera.

there's even an option to choose a color space, either sRGB or AdobeRGB. Wow. That's DEEP... for previous smartphone users (the intended market), that's something beyond.

Its not an entry-level camera, though. Its a "mid-level", alongside the K-50.

Thanks for the pics.

dcexpert on eBay [Australia] has a bunch of K-S1's listed - body only $729. They always only list what they stock, and as anyone who has bought from them knows, they ship almost instantly. If other local retailers are reporting delays, try them.

I'm really interested in how the 20MP sensor performs relative to other Pentaxes, so it's a pity that (so far) there are no early adopters posting K-S1 pix here.

I've already done my pre-sales order through a company in the northern suburbs, Rawr.

It's a good sign, though.

The cargo container must now have arrived in the country, since DCexpert and pentax.com.au have connections.

That Manila only had one (possibly pre-production model) on display shows how new this all is, since they're presumably manufactured in the Philippines.

Amazon UK shows only one or two in stock for some colours, but delivery is 2 - 4 weeks. I've just bought an Olympus OM-D E-M5 and a few primes for when I want to travel really light, but now I'm wondering how the KS-1 compares to that camera in size and weight (the camera comparison site doesn't have details of the KS-1 yet).

Edit: Yes it does, it didn't show up when I did a search... There's not much in it: the KS-1 is only a tad larger than the EM-5, though the Oly is 158 grams lighter (probably due to that lovely glass pentaprism in the Pentax)

So charge those batteries and go for a photo walk pls, and post the results.

Unless it's changed a lot since I was last there, there are always lots of interesting things to shoot in Melbourne.

I wonder what it will feel like compared to a K-3. Lighter is always better, at least for some excursions.

It's very K-x like. Went through the menus this afternoon, will take a few shots with it next week. Have ordered a Flu card, too.
