As requested, some high ISO images, all OoC JPGs, only cropped.

Looks really good! These pictures are definitely turning my head toward the K-S1 and making it much harder to talk myself out of one.

Much has been made of the small size/weight of this camera and that's what really interests me. I wonder how it's weight would compare to the K100 - I just checked out a K100 and a K50 - the K50 is noticeably heavier though it's not a huge amount. It would be good for me if the K-S1 were about the same weight as the K100 (lighter is better), as I could use one for a couple of days and see if I can manage it. That would really help me make up my mind about whether to buy one or not.

Totally different market segment, my friend, you're in the wrong forum.
You can tell a lot by the types of comments left and the choice of threads. Based on your comments on this site, I would say you are an enthusiast who is very interested in gear. That is not a bad thing.

thanks for the answer. Now to shoot with the K100 for a week, if I can remember how it works. And to see how many features I will miss and if they are on the K-S1. Can't believe I'm thinking so seriously about buying another camera!

The K-S1 is quite a bit lighter than the K100D - about 100 grams, or 15%.

My first DSLR after the K100D was the K-x, and the second biggest change was not having a top LCD (no AF points in the viewfinder was first, but the K-S1 has those). The K-S1 doesn't use AA batteries, but otherwise probably has all the functions of the K100D and more. The K-S1 reminds me a lot of the K-x, just with a smaller grip.

What's going on here? I was enjoying this thread.

I think the photos posted here go a long way to justifying this camera's existence.

Hmm.

I hope you do make your money from photography, Josh - it's certainly not from your diplomacy!

I don't need to be diplomatic to a troll. Maybe instead of posting 16,000 posts to a forum without donating anything he should go actually shoot.

Love it.

You hate people trying to get a handle on you, but after 13 posts, everyone can see you've got a potty mouth, Josh!

PS If you've got a conundrum, you'll actually find Steve to be one of the most generous and authoritative contributors you can imagine. I've even bought two of those mad Soviet lenses because of his posts. Just kiss and make up!

This is a teachable moment. This is the kind of behavior that gets you banned from a thread.
