Excellent eclipse shot! I had the K-r set on a tripod with 400mm and interval shooting (much missed on the K-S1) and the 55-300 on the K-s1. It was so faint as it came up that I didn't see it until later, so they will need much processing to look their best.

Here's my longer-exposure copy of your shot.. 190mm then cropped

First pictures from my new lens, DA35mm f2.4, aka Buttercup. Plants in my garden. The pink flowers are on a miniature rose named Rennie, and the grass with the fluffy seed heads is Pennisetum.

NIce...

I know it's not fashionable to say good things about Precision camera repair, but my 'Smurfette' Blue Cream Soda K-S1 had a problem with the CDAF (loose connector, I think), so I sent her off, thinking it would be awhile before we got to have fun again. Round trip, twelve days. Things appear to be fixed - hopefully, we will do some shooting this weekend (indoors - because the current pattern of overcast and rain started the day I sent the K-S1 off, and has not let up since).

Venus at noon!

I was relaxing in the yard, looking at the turning maple leaves - and there it was I've seen Venus in the daytime before, but only after tracking it before sunrise and following it across the sky. Taken with 55-300 then resized and cropped. Man it's hard to pin focus on something that small - though using live view would have helped

I love the 3D effect of the Takumar 135 F2.5. It was another $30 Craigslist special

The leaves are the DA 20-40 Ltd, which I am really beginning to like as a "travel lens", and the teahouse is the DA 35 / 2.4 "Plastic Fantastic".

Still messing around with the DA 20-40 Ltd, trying to decide if I will do an extended "regular guy" review or not. The early reviews of this lens complained about lack of sharpness, but I'm not seeing it on mine. When I can count the hairs on a honeybee's butt, it seems to me the lens is plenty sharp. That means I really need to walk through various apertures and focal lengths on a brick wall-type target to try to figure out when it is or isn't sharp, and I hate doing that, enough to forget about the whole project.

I gave my 9 year old daughter a K-S1 for her birthday and so I stole it from her yesterday morning and took it out shooting with the DA 15 limited. It is really nice. About the same size as the K-01 but with quicker operation and I do like having a real viewfinder (and the K-S1 has a nice one). Image files have nice color depth and dynamic range too.

I probably won't shoot with it much since it is her camera, but it was fun while it lasted...
