Well, count me in folks... I recently received a new-to-me K-S1... these shots were taken for purpose of testing, so they're not the most exciting...

Not bad, I actually believe it is a sharper sensor than the K-50 (I used the K 50/4 for the shots).

I also just noted... the battery does not want to come out, even when depressing the small grey lever to release it. A Pentax genuine battery... Anyone has had that issue?

Welcome to the club I also have the K-S1 and a K-50 like you and I agree that while the K-50 sensor is a fine sensor, this one is better!

I had that issue with my K-50, where the battery wouldn't come out. It was an issue with the battery lock. Eventually the lock broke completely off (taking a piece of the inside wall of the battery compartment with it) and now the battery pops out - but the problem is that it's only held in place by the battery cover, not by the lock.
I was just looking at my K-S1 and the battery lock is much different, so my guess is something must be keeping the spring held down.

I know you will have some fun with this camera! Not great for longer lenses since it's so small, but for smaller lenses it's a treat.

Thank you - I also feel that the shooting ( snaping a shot) is tighter with the K-S1. On the downside, I feel like the camera willl fall off my hand while I walk with it...the K-50 kinda grips itself to my hand... funny and odd
