Pentax K S1/Pentax 40mm xs compatibility

I have a K S1 and was thinking about getting the Pentax 40mm xs for it. However, there is a sign on Amazon that says that lens won't work on the K S1. They are both the same mount, as far as I know, so don't know why it wouldn't work. Any info/help will be appreciated. Would hate to buy the lens and then find out it wouldn't be compatible. Thank you.

You can ignore that - the "will it work" popup also says the 40XS doesn't work on the K-01 - the camera it was designed for. They've got something wrong with their code.

Edit: Or any other Pentax DSLR I tried. That is one seriously limited K-mount lens, if it won't work on K-mount cameras!

Will be good to hear how you get on with this. The K-S1 and 40XS should look pretty good together - the lightweight modern partnership.

Yes kentishrev -- I thought so too. Previously had the K 01 but really needed viewfinder so was thrilled when this came out. Should be great!
