Pentax - give us interval shooting please - Petition

Anybody else missing interval shooting (and perhaps multi exposure mode) on the K-S1?

As there is no official email address whereto I can send my request, why not open a "petition-thread"?
The more users petition, the better. Maybe a Pentax official is reading along this forum.

From my understanding this features simply are firmware related.
So why not implement them into the next updated firmware?

Interval shooting, WR, wired remote port, and a few other features like those seem to be reserved for the mid to higher end cameras. I wished for them when I only had a K-x and solved the issue by buying a K-5 (and now a K-3). I kind of doubt they will put those features in cameras aimed at the entry level photographers so they can have something to upsell them on later.

But I agree a small cameras like the K-S1 would be better with those features. The flagship models are all bigger and heavier, it would be nice to have a small light camera with those premuim features but it would probably have a premium price as well.

Agreed!

I have got a FluCard and a 50€ refund by the cash back campaign last year.
I admit I'm really happy with this combination and even more considering the price I have payed.

But I do believe that interval shooting in particular still exists as a part of the firmware and could have been implemented at minimal cost.
Maybe I'm wrong.

You're right but I'm saying they won't do it because they would prefer you buy a more expensive camera like the K-3 to get that feature.

Yup, if you want the more advanced features you'll have to opt for one of the higher-end models.

That's right, the K-r has interval shooting and was the Pentax entry-level model from the introduction date in 2010. I've used it to make time-lapse video for an architect by taking a large number of stills and processing them into video using software. All Pentax DSLR cameras since then should have it in my view, taking a backward step in features is a bad idea.

Mount a Q on your hot shoe heck it even does interval movies, and FW update gave it peaking! Given those precedents you should ask nicely for interval shots.

The K10D does not have interval shooting. The K-S2 does.

The K-S1 has no external AC power option - probably a limiting factor in considering interval shooting. It may be possible to do interval shooting via the FluCard.

Actually, it does have a removable piece in the battery door to allow a K-AC128 adapter. That said, I don't see much hope for a "petition thread". There are so few K-S1 owners on PF, and I doubt the executives who would make the decision would be lurking PF. Better to contact your Pentax customer support directly.
