What is the relevance of that, Steve?

It is noisy, and the A7R even noisier and clumsier apparently.

Oh, come off it Steve.

Your first post here introduced Nikons, a Canon and a Fuji MILC - no Pentax in your YouTube clip at all!

One rule for you, another for everyone else?

Is this noise really annoying for KS-2?
Can someone make a comparison as to K100D Super noise? Only on this I have noisier.

I don't mind if comparisons are made, even outside of Pentax. But, importantly, it was answered that we should expect it to be similar to the K-30/K-50. For all the great attributes those cameras have, the sound of the shutter going off isn't one of them.

I just listened to both my K-30 and K-S1, Spodeworld, and assume the shutter is the same.

If the K-S2 is like the K-30/50/500/S1 (and everyone is saying it is), then it is about as loud as the K100D, but the sound form is different. My K100D's shutter has a slight squeak to it.

Yes, they are very similar in both volume and character. When I was working on a review of the K-S1, I recorded the shutter sound and compared the waveforms, but then no one cared about the K-S1, so I didn't do anything else with it. I think one reason people think the K-30/etc. is so loud is because there are two sharp peaks with a gap in between - the K-x was just as loud, but there is more sound filling that gap.

Comparison video:

Yes, I agree from the video the sounds were for all practical purposes the same. However I was looking at the activity LED, I know this was not under test and different size files may being saved, but the S1 LED only stayed lit for a very short time.

Too bad, the sound is a bit junky sounding for such a high quality item.

I must have had a slow SD card in the K-30. With a SANdisk Ultra in both cameras, write speed is the same.

I don't think Pentax gives that figure for entry/mid-range bodies any more, but when they last did on the K-x/r, it was "at least 100,000 actuations".
