It's backwards compatible with USB 2 so it would throttle at 60 MB/s (480 mbits/s).

Both of my current PC builds run USB 3 ports, but most of my devices are still USB2. Only my thumb drive, backup system, K-3, and Note3 can actually utilize the high speed of USB 3. All these probs will be solved with the coming USB Type-C, I hope!!

Thanks for the photos, it's a beauty!
Have you had time to compare the IQ to your K-3?

I almost pulled the trigger on one today.
I'm still holding out for more reviews and hopefully a price drop, if I can wait that long.

Here are a couple of shots with the kit lens hand-held in my yard, ISO800, no NR but adjusted clarity in LR:

I'm impressed with the kit lens- quiet, fast focus, nice close-ups, creamy bokeh, and reasonably sharp edge-to-edge.

Yes, very pleasing shots.
I can see this replacing my K-5, leaving me with a 01 and a MX-1.

I received my Stone Gray K-S2 on Tuesday and it is pretty rad. I haven't played much with the kit lens, but I am really impressed with its tiny size when retracted and OMG it is QUIET. The last auto-focus lens I owned was a Promaster 28-105 that I bought in 2003 (since sold it), and it sounded like a freight train. I'm impressed!

And yes, there is lots to love about the K-S2! :-)

No matter how many times I look at it, that is not forest green.

I haven't done a direct comparison yet, but one thing that stands out to me is that the noise from this sensor is pleasing somehow- very like film grain. Of course, the 12bit DR is a drawback, just like the K-01, but I'm used to working with that.

More of a grey/olive drab. Good looking combo, though.

Funny, I have that lens and it, to me, isn't noisy at all.
Maybe a higher pitch sound, but not loud.
Pretty sure it's a Tamron make, same as the Pentax FA version.

I guess after 20-some manual focus lenses, any auto-focus lens sounds unnecessarily loud. :-)

I'm sure, and I'm trying to imagine an AF lens that sounds nearly like one of my manuals.

Still, it's the B micro plug. Hmm, wonder what the transfer rate degrades to.
If you use USB2 microB, you get USB2 speeds. If your plug is USB3 microB (the full plug of the K-3) you get USB3 speeds.

Perhaps under bright sunlight the forest green turns into another color. Unlike the images reported by DPR where the green really pops out.

Would like to see that stonegray too!
