I'm nearly done converting my spare bedroom to a small photo studio. Tonight I finally had most things in place and ready for a couple of pics, and really meant only as a test for my lights and placement. This is the very first shot ever taken in it. If she knew I shared it she'd probably never sit for me again since she had no makeup, old t-shirt, and taking a short break from house-cleaning. All in all I was darn pleased considering!

...and by the way the studio gear came in under $1000, tho barely so. It doesn't have to be all that expensive if you decide to go with studio lighting and backdrops. If you wanted to make your own do your research and watch deals, particularly at Amazon. For example I got that new-in-the-box RPS 20W floor LED for just under $100, and the two RPS 100W LED main lights combined were less than $350. Even the three Bowen-mount softboxes (there's also a 38" octagon not shown) were less than $150 total on eBay.

I also have another section of that bedroom, a 5' wide x8' long area ending in a dormer window, set aside for natural light shooting. I'll be using that for sure and it didn't cost me anything extra. You could get by with natural light and one large reflector if you wanted to go serious budget.

Very nice capture. Crisp image! I think you'll be enjoying that K-S2.
