Some pictures because there's far too little activity around here.
All three taken with the Tamron 10-24 @10mm, first two at f/8 and handheld, third at f/22 on a tripod to get a longer exposure without an ND filter (should get myself some in at least 77mm for this lens and the Sigma 17-50/2.8).

I noticed a moth sitting on a stuffed animal which is sitting on top of my computer screen and took out my gear.

K-S2, D-FA 100 WR, f/16, tripod, handheld ring light, stacked the ooc jpegs in CombineZP (method: Pyramid Do Stack)

0.8s, 6 frames, cropped by ~2/3rds

Moth Top View

0.4s, 9 frames, cropped by ~1/3rd

Moth Sive View

The moth didn't like it when I tried to turn the stuffed animal with it on its side and took off.

Below are some of my images from an evening shoot at Dahlia Hill in Midland, Michigan. Details on that garden — planted and maintained by volunteers are at Dahlia Hill - unlike any other dahlia garden
The camera is a monopod-mounted K-S2. The last image was captured with a Lensbaby Sol 45. Others were captured with a Takumar-F 28-80 1:3.5-4.5. (Perhaps a Raynox 150 was added for one or more of the images.)

Below are a few images from my most recent visit to a small wetland approximately 15 minutes from my home at Midland, Michigan.
I like to go there before sunset and watch great egrets fly in and roost.

The lens is an older 100-300mm. The K-S2 is on a monopod. The tight shot of the egrets with one great blue heron was captured at ISO 2500, 1/200, f/5.6.

Comments and criticism of my images are most welcome.

Best wishes to all.

Nice work in difficult light Stu. 2500 ISO comes up well and you did really well with slowish shutter speeds with the egrets and the reeds. With the Great Egret in flight, maybe ideally you could have traded a stop of shutter speed (to 1/1600th) for a stop of aperture (to f8) or a stop of ISO (to 1600), but with the silhouette effect maybe it would matter much anyway.

Excellent shots Stu. You'd get so much out of the DA 55-300mm PLM - I'd strongly suggest you consider the upgrade. I think you've reached the limits of what the older zoom can do.

Nice shots! I'd like to try my hand at stacking at some point, but I'm afraid my current computer would choke to death on the throughput of data!
