I think it can't be overstated how nice the colors of the K-S1 and K-S2 are (for CMOS cameras, especially). If my former K-3 was capable of giving me greens like this, I would still have it! And pinks, yellows and oranges of the 20MP sensor are also so much better - well, you get the idea, The K-3 was on par with reds and I think skin tones were almost as good, but that was about it(*). I think it's all of the colors really. This is the only sensor that Pentax has used, that I think can give similar results to CCD cameras (but the 10MP CCD in my K200D and K10D still has an edge especially when the sun is out - in my humble opinion).
(*) I'm talking about the color information that the camera puts out before you do a whole lot of color management, which I admittedly am not all that good at doing.
