Some K-S2 / K-3 Comparisons

So my car broke down and I couldn't get to work, so I had time on my hands to make some comparisons of K-S2 with the K-3, K-30, and K-01, with three different lenses on each. Here's some 100% crops. All settings on all cameras the same, Custom Image natural. OOC, no PP.

I can't see any difference. Actually I was thinking this 20MP sensor could be sharper than the 24MP one in the K3 - same situation with Sony A3000 vs A6000. But from the pictures here K-S2 and K-3 seem to be about the same. Thanks for sharing.

The first image the K-3 looks sharper, the second one on the corner the K-S2 looks sharper. I suspect the same focal point wasn't selected by both cameras.

The porcelain dish filled the center spot circle entirely, presumably filling the entire target area of the center AF point. (I let the camera focus because I also wanted to check these lenses for front or back focus, and my eyesight is not entirely reliable for MF anyway.) The camera was level and the scene was square to the camera. I think both cams hit the focus accurately.

At any rate. my bottom line after these tests (which were also done at other apertures and with other lenses) is that the K-S2 sensor is at par with the K-3's. My first shots out of the box had given me pause, but I now attribute that to the lens in use for that.
