Using my old Pentax AF lenses with a new DSLR

Hi Guys

I have my eye on the Pentax K-S2 DSLR to start me off into digital photography .

I have an old MZ- 60 with 2 Pentax lenses : SMC Pentax - F 35-80 and a SMC Pentax - F 100-300 and I'd like to use these on the K-S2.

I thought I'd either get the K-S2 with the 18-55 kit lens or maybe just body only .

Would this be a good set up ? I mostly use my camera for sports that my sons do like surf life saving and water polo.

Cheers
Chig

Get it with the kit-lens. The field of view of the 35-70 (@35mm) on a dSLR will be more or less the same as when it's set to 50mm on your film body; for most people not wide enough.

Thanks for that , I guess also great to have the weather sealing of the kit lens too.

Maybe use a small fast lens for water polo?

Hi Guys

I thought maybe I'd get a small fast lens like the SMC Pentax-DA 50mm F1.8 which is cheap but should be good in low light for using with the KS 2 I plan to get would work well for water polo photography.

I thought I could find a suitable spot on one side at the end and get the action in front of the goal , what do you think ?

A fast lens is very useful, I have an oldie but goldie FA 50 f/1.7 - works very nice on my K-S2.
