Yes, and it works perfectly with DFA150-450 even if the small angular grip is not comfortable enough with such a big lens...
We're off to see the tennis at Queen's tomorrow, and Wimbledon a week or so later. Taking the 55-300 to see how that performs on the K-S1. Should show up whether the grip is an issue, too.

My first experience with the 55-300 on the K-S1 was that it handled a lot better than I expected it to. Just support the lens and body with your left hand, and use your right for control, like an old-school SLR. For carrying, I had intended to switch from a wrist strap to a neck strap, but forgot to pack the neck strap. It turned out not to be a problem.

My experience is the 55-300 is light enough to work well with the K-S1. I've used it on occasion. I've also used the A300 on it and did better than I had expected. The A300 has a pretty broad focus ring, so I used that to support a large part of the weight as well as focus. It wasn't ideal by any means, but I hadn't expected to manage at all with the smaller grip and the fact all the weight is at the front element. Anything larger or heavier will require a tripod for me now.

I've used the Sigma 150-500 and 35mm Art with it. These are big lenses!

If you hold correctly as per a DSLR (left hand under lens /body), you're fine, if you shoot P&S style (death grip with the RH, ornamental one with the left), it'll end in tears. :-)

Ha!

Haven't looked at the pix yet, only just got home after a long day. Train journey is not too long (it's nice having a 140mph train to London from the sticks), it's the Underground from St. Pancras to Baron's Court (12 stops on the Piccadilly) which is a bit tiring when it's like a sardine tin. However.

I think between us we took 140 shots or so today, mostly with the 55-300, and the handling was basically OK. The battery still shows full after that, too. However, SWMBO found that the position of the mode dial and 4-way controller is perhaps not optimal. It might have been better located further down the back of the K-S1. Her thumb had tended to rest on the OK button, and she managed to shift the camera to 12-sec delay shooting without realising and then spent some minutes wondering why the camera was beeping at her. So there will be some shots of her left foot, etc. Unlikely to make that mistake again, however. She was the main user of our old K100D Super and this was her first major outing with the K-S1.

White looks great with the silver limiteds, the camera becomes a beautiful unicorn.

I think the white K-S1 probably looks best with the silver lenses. The blue K-S1 has enough silver accents that it isn't bad, either, although (and I know this is blasphemy to some) silver lenses don't really appeal to me. "Zebra" lenses (especially Zeiss), on the other hand...

Thanks for the replies. I think the size of k-s1 is perfect for the limiteds.

I'd buy a new K-S1 if I could get a great deal. Looking at Amazon, Ebay and the big retailers, it appears there are tons available. They are now discounted to $350-$400 or so with kit lens and it does not look like they are selling. Can we expect blow-out pricing anytime soon?
Good to hear of some enthusiasm for the KS1; the KS2 seems to have taken over this forum, and somehow the KS2 doesn't hold much appeal to me. I am so fond of my blue KS1 for which I paid AUD 700 that I've just bought a second one (white) for AUD 620. I too was hoping they'd drop way down in price but went ahead anyway. My only criticism is the ergonomics, but you do get used to it.

I just ran to B&H to do a price check on the silver K-S1, and it's discontinued! Too bad!

ERM, think yourself lucky - if the silver finish is the same as the silver on the right hand side of my black K-S1, it's very soft indeed. I had only owned my K-S1 for three weeks when the plastic zip on my camera bag gouged 4 or 5 very deep scratches on the silver facing, considerably reducing my joy of ownership.

I haven't had any problems with the silver end piece on my K-S1 (blue). The 'night' and 'fabric' collections have been discontinued, leaving the original three colors and the three 'sweets'. B&H may not have stocked many (or any) of the 'night' or 'fabric' colors. Adorama still shows some of them in stock (but no 'sweets', go figure). Amazon only shows Black/Blue/White and 'sweets'.

Edit: just checked, and there are a couple 'beauty marks' on my side plate. Oh well - they don't show if you're shooting!
