K-S2 wifi vs K-1 wifi

Does anyone know if they will be pretty much the same?
If so, maybe it will get updated to something more useful for the K-S2.

Don't know the answer but it would be good if the shipment of K-1 forced Ricoh to provide an Android app which works fully with K-S2 as well as K-1.
Currently there is no date for availability of an updated version of the Image Sync app which works with all versions of Android.

I think Ricoh's complete complacency over the compatibility issues with image synch is shocking rather than ensuring their app works across the android platform. All I get from them nowadays is 'take it up with your phone manufacturer'. Like LG are going to be bothered about adapting their OS for the benefit of a relatively few Pentax owners who want to use the Pentax app on one of their phones - a tiny minority as opposed the relatively large proportion of Pentax K-S2 owners that are affected. It is a disgraceful way to treat you customer base.

That's Android for you - forking is a nightmare for developers.

Hardly the nightmare that users of some other mobile OS would like to believe it is.

Anyway, the app was updated earlier this month, likely in preparation for the K1's shipping soon. Whether it was a beneficial update I don't know but I'll find out soon enough.

So many mobile phones, so many urban myths, that there has to be at least one to affirm each owner's preconceptions and prejudices.

However, the fact that many of us are now rejoicing in the recently-free but abandoned Nik software means that Google is as capable of stranding those who don't move on, as other makers, and maybe even more so.

What is more interesting about the K-1, however, is how fast file transfers and Live View updates will be via WiFi.

I am rather disappointed with the wifi on S2. The main use of it that I was hoping for is the transfer of pictures to my iPad. It takes literally minutes to get one single picture of highest resolution from S2 to iPad. Apart from that, I do not see any meaningful use of wifi on this camera if I can use its timer or IR remote.
