Very frustrating, if this is the case. I skipped the k50 since it was a carbon copy of the k30. I thought the ks2 was different enough that it wouldn't have the same problem. So far yours is the first ks2 to have this problem, and we are still speculating it is the aperture drive failure at this point.
The good thing is we are aware of the problem. I had a few "dark frames" with my k30 while it was still under extended warranty, but thought it was just a fluke. Now I know what to look for with my ks2.
