I do about 5-10k per year and I'm not afraid of load. Camera is a tool, tools should be used and I'll buy a new one after that. K-S2 is lighter about 150-200g than K-5/K-3 which is useful on trips.
As long as you realize that K-S2 or K-70 may last only a few years under that load.
Maybe they are using higher quality of parts on consumer-level product these days.
However, several users were very disappointed when consumer-level camera died long before shutter count reached 100K.

I'm very happy with my K-S2 now. The quality without AA and with good prime lenses (limiteds) are much much better. AF and SR is much better than in K-5, but recording movies is a bit worse than in K-5 and I'm going to write new topic about it.

The K-5 uses mechanical sr for video. The k-s2 digital sr. Pentax is doing that to eliminate sound, but what it actually achieves is irritating the hell out of everybody.

Do a search before posting. The topic of video in recent model Pentax cameras (particularly in comparison to the K-5) has been discussed to the point of nausea, particularly in regards to shake reduction.

I bought K-S2 few days ago and tested it on a small bicycle trip.

I found that:
- ergonomics/grip is always problematic at the beginning, had same thing when changed from k100 to k5
- 4-way buttons are not easy to operate
- AF is better in K-S2 than in K5 IMHO
- SR is definitely better in K-S2
- display antireflex shielding is better in K-5
- build quality is good, much better than k100/k10
- it's a bit easier and faster to take photo, but shutter is louder
- burst speed is much slower. This camera is not intended for series shooting.
I ended up upgrading from K-5 to K-70, and I would say my observations are similar to what you saw on the K-S2. It seems like there may not be enough difference to justify buying the higher priced K-70, but still I am happy with the K-70. Haven't used the articulating screen much and the WIFI remote control is problematic. About all I miss of the K-5 is the quieter shutter and longer battery life.

Comparison: Pentax K-70 vs Pentax K-S2 - Which one to get - TechTricks : Photography tips and Tricks
Pentax K-70 vs Pentax K-3 II - A Detailed Feature Comparison - TechTricks : Photography tips and Tricks

I just bought a K-S2 as my second camera (replacing a K-30), to go with my K-3. Good buy for $A592 new, with warranty - about the same as a second-hand K-5iis (no warranty).

Had the price been close to that of the K-70, I would have got the K-70, but even in a sale the K-70 was over $A200 more.
