K-S2 missing EXIF "Lens" parameter

I recently upgraded from a K-x to a K-S2. In working with Lightroom the other night I noticed that the EXIF "Lens" parameter is missing from the K-S2 photos. See attached images.

Is there a setting either in the K-S2 or Lightroom that I'm missing? I know the K-S2 can detect which lens is connected, it just seems to not want to record it in the EXIF metadata. It seems odd that a 6 year old camera would have that parameter but brand new one won't.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

To put it simply, the most likely explanation is that your version of lightroom is missing lens definitions for whatever lens you were shooting with on the K-S2. Updating LR to version 6 or CC should fix the problem.

To confirm, try uploading one of the unknown photos as an attachment on the forum, and you should get a lens ID, since the data is there.

I'm attaching a photo from the K-S2 here, judging from the EXIF available from the preview, it appears the lens parameter is indeed missing

yes, that's correct. Were you able to find a lens parameter in the file? I didn't see one when I clicked EXIF info within the post.

After looking at it on my desktop, this image looks like it has been modified by lightroom. Can you upload a photo straight out of camera? (our attachment system supports large files, just go browse your SD card)

And an old version (v4.4) at that. The DA 18-50 would not be in the Lightroom lookup table for any version older than 6.x or CC. FWIW, the same is true for full support of the K-S2.

Here's the original photo straight off the SD card. I can see from the post preview that it has the Lens EXIF data. (Strange thing though, the original is 10MB and 5472 x 3648, but the uploaded photo is 1350 x 900... perhaps the upload system resizes if it's over a certain size?)

Looks like I will have to update Lightroom. Seems I just got that version

Thanks for your help.
