B shooting mode on Pentax K-S2

Hello,

I interest to get Pentax K-S2 and find obscurity about shooting in B mode.

How can you shoot on B mode without get blurred image?

My Pentax K-50 can use cable release, but reading on Pentax K-S2 instruction manual there is no port to use cable release.
There is only port for microphone and not sharing port to use interchangeably for cable release.

Thank you.

An IR Remote is even better (nothing touching the camera) and it works on the K-S2.

Good luck!

You can use an IR remote, but it requires a small configuration change. In the "C1" custom menu edit "Bulb (B) Mode Options" to "Type 2". In this mode the first press of the shutter release (or remote) will open the shutter. A second press closes it.

Does the continuous blinking of the "IR" led indicator on the camera body not create colour tint on the image when do long exposure shooting? Thnaks

I use the camera's wifi along with the Image Sync app to shoot in Bulb mode. Works perfect for me.

Good question! The blinking stops while the exposure is being made.

Oh.... I never did long exposure w/ IR remote. An old man only experience w/ real cable (analog). I agree Pentax K-70 is interesting too, especially its Pixel shift feature.

Thanks,

If your phone is Android and has an IR Blaster, you might want to check out the dSLR Remote app. It has excellent Pentax support, has an attractive feature set, and is free
