K S2 Fashing Red

In playback mode an area is flashing red. Still photo taken indoor low light, settings in auto, clarity enhancement is on, fine adjustment is on, others are in default settings.

Manual says overexposed area, what settings is wrong i have done, how to correct it, dos and don'ts needed.

That is the display telling you where the image is over exposed. You can turn that function off if you don't like it. It's useful to help you set exposure. This will not show red in a print or on your computer.

Auto isn't perfect. Sometimes you need to expose up or down. Read the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Petersen to learn how to get off auto and take control of your images. After you read that book you will know what you did and how to fix it. Sorry there isn't an easy answer.

I suggest moving to "P" mode for the moment. This will allow you to use the Exposure Value compensation button (EV) to change the exposure for the correct shot. Learn to use the LCD review and EC comp. I also suggest shooting raw and learning some software to process them - it's can be fairly easy and not time-consuming.

Can you post the photo? Just attach it straight out of camera and we'll be able to see the EXIF data.

Original Poster
sample photo of k s2

High alert red flashing was off and indoor and outdoor photos with area in red are those white portions.
In the car the red is in left headlight and small other part. No red flashing in indoor photos, some indoor photos i took with red flashing was deleted already, it occurs on glass area, but taken without flash. UV filter was attached and flower lens hood on 18-50 mm Pentax lens.
