Replacing my Canon 60D with a Pentax K-S2

For a while now I have been looking at moving over to the Pentax arena and was contemplating on getting a K5, but I have read good reviews regarding the K-S2 so now leaning towards it.

Is the K-S2 in the same leauge as the Canon 60D? as in not a beginners camera but more a semi enthusiasts camera?

Is the build quality good? or better than the 60D, which is actually ok.

Has anyone came from Canon to a Pentax and felt Pentax was easier to operate?

Thanks

I am not familiar with the 60D. But if you're looking at a K-S2 and have not done so you might want to look at Pentax K-70 Review - Introduction | PentaxForums.com Reviews
I'm sure more people will chime in to offer help. Lots of great people here. Good luck with your choice.

I think the KS2 would be a step up in general image quality, in particular low noise, it might not be a step up in handling (unless you're looking for something smaller). Is there any chance you would be able to handle a KS2 or even a K70 in a shop? That might give you a better idea.

The K3 would probably beat the 60D even in handling, but it's the KP that would be the natural progression if you want the flippy screen, too.

I think I would classify the 60D as a lower semi-enthusiasts camera, the KS-2 probably around the same league, maybe slightly lower. As said, the KS-2s sensor will be better, but the 60D should be better for video.

Or do you mean the 600D? That would have been Canon's entry level camera at the time. It's not much lower in specs than the 60D, but the built quality and handling aren't as good.

I have found this site useful for comparing cameras

Canon 60D vs Pentax K-S2 Detailed Comparison

But I would recommend a Pentax K-70 which basically supercedes the K-S2 model and is a great entry camera

KS2 factors

I am a user of beige color and satisfied with wireless function to my android. You can buy film camera/s with very nice lens and that lens will work and donate the rest. Clarity of pictures, AF is fast, selfie, weight and the looks is nice. LCD data is large enough for wearing eyeglass user, shutter sound is enough for low hearing ear. Everything depends on result of the lens you use.
