Solenoid replacement

Pictures from the K-S2 process:

1. Green solenoid
2. Green solenoid de-soldered
3. White solenoid installed (not the best soldering job, but it works)
4. Mystery washer thing which dropped out of the camera body

different thread

I think this actually should be in the K-S2 section!

Well done!

No idea were those "leftovers" belong to.*

Thanks - I've moved it.

Gotcha, I'm still learning the best place to put things, thanks.

I actually tried to video the whole process, but unfortunately my laptop froze. Too bad.

All good. Thanks for documenting the process.

Looks like some kind of detent ball - one of your dials may no longer "click" when moved??

Nope, no apparent difference in function.

The ring is part of the microphone-socket. It has the same colour as the body of the K-S2, so yours had to be white of course

The ball... no idea

The ball: might be the AF/MF switch?
I remember a ball related "warning" from a disassembling instruction but can't find it anymore.

well done, just never lost it myself, one has "treat the switch quite rough" to get that tiny ball out there (here seen on the AF-C-M switch of a white K-30):

Reviving an old thread, did that washer ever get identified? I have the same one. It's not the mic plug washer; that one I figured out before I put the thing back together.

This was the microphone plug washer because it was a white K-S2!
On a black K-S2 it is black!

Just saw these replies after a period away - the ball was actually just a glob of solder thankfully!
