For once I have both lenses in the match up.
Lucky. Only three of the lenses I have got nominated. One didn't make it to the top 5 (M50 f2), and my DA 18-135 was slaughtered by the FA*300!
Still, death by mud is a terrible way for any lens to go...

Since the DA 50-135 was the last zoom standing, I think it deserves the title of best Pentax zoom of all time, based on IQ.

As with others before, I own both lenses, the 50-135 is so sharp for a zoom, it will out perform most primes, but I think that the DA* 300 just edges it, IQ and sharpness are fabulous...and since I have acquired a K3, the results are even better!

Fine. Now I have to buy the DA*300... This whole tournament thing is a conspiracy from B&H.

Nico,
Don't worry.....the glass will outlast your camera if you look after it.....I have a K3 with the 50-135 on it & a K5IIs with the DA*300 living on that.......both are wonderful pieces of glass technology.....

Andy, that was my exact plan before I killed my K3 and 50-135! Except - I would have switched the two. I think the DA*300 needs the K3 AF performance more than the 50-135 does...

My DA*300 is sitting on a K5II now. Just... not the same. Here is one of the last BIFs I got before my K3 died:

...at least I still have my DA*300. I am going to try to help it win the tournament...

Except for the FA31, all the results this round have surprised me - or at least disappointed me.

Injustice, injustice!
