Yesterday morning I recorded the count as 2,981,578 and this morning as 2983,328. I'm not sure how close these were in time, but that is nearly 2 thousand in a day. At that rate, it would take us maybe ten days to reach three million ... but I'm not sure how many of these were once only "me too" messages that there is no reason to repeat.

Yep.
We don't catch them all, but we get most of them as they register. Your odds of winning are far, far greater if you only have one account than if you have multiple.
Regardless of whether we catch it beforehand or not, multiple accounts are prohibited by forum rules, so if the person whose name is selected has multiple accounts it's a disqualification.

I didn't read it that way at all. You post between Adam's announcement and the 3 millionth post, you're entered in the drawing. Nothing about each post making you more eligible, or rather, more chances in the drawing.
