I was trying to work out why there were so many new users over night (30 or so) as I always welcome them. Now I realise it was the give away that created so many users.

I was thinking the same thing when I looked at the responses. There was a term used for "converts" who appeared when Christian missionaries in China offered free food – they were called "rice Christians". Not that I'm saying that's the case here, mind.

Still, you never know. Some may stick around and participate. There might even be some genuine "converts" there.

It took my about 20 minutes to welcome them all with the 25 second delay between posts - but I stuck to it

In the last couple minutes there were another 5 or so, wow they are coming quickly...

Only one entry per person? Do multiple posts on the thread disqualify you?

One comment per person entitles you to one entry into the contest. Another comment will not count. I don't believe Adam will disqualify you if you make more than one comment but which isn't necessary.

I'd hate to see someone win who just joined today, and then never see a post from them again.

It says a winner has been announced for one lens and I can't find it, can someone point me to the right location

I found it, and my glasses. Those tend to help, LOL

I admit, at first it was a bit.
But then I started to like reading their introductions and say hello.
Some I just reply something simple like "Welcome to the forum!" but others I'll reply in more detail.

It is in the comments, on that front page where everyone commented about what they wanted to see. You have to show all comments and then I did a search for Adam post. It wasn't easy but I found it, since it was not me I forgot who the winner was
