When it finally opened-at a couple minutes past--and I was able to post, it timed out on me. Sort of frustrating, to say the least.But... good luck to whomever was fortunate enough not to run into hiccups on their end (and gets chosen, of course!)

My guess is some kind of human error unlocking the thread, compounded by traffic-related glitches once it did unlock.

Yep, its one of those things that are supposed to make people exited and someone makes a mistake or things just dont work properly and a lot of peaople upset instead...

Me too. I'm in on right time 11pm UTC and thread still closed. couldn't post, 1 minute later, thread opened and thread is full too.

It's not like I'm angry or anything, even if I was part of the 100 I probably wouldn't win.

But this could have been fun with just a topic where all members could submit a ticket, and then draw from that pool, Instead of being a stressful twitch refresh battle.

IMHO, some of the biggest complainers here have pretty low post counts.
What did you do to help make this happen in the first place?

No it means complaining has become a national pastime. Mistakes happen and we are entitled to nothing but honesty and the best efforts of others.

Shame, Inside Job. 2 mods already entered, even Thread was not opened "public' up until minutes. Finally saw the post form, couldn't sucessfully send for a mere minute, eventually it was back to "closed" having 51 posts in it, including the Early 2 Moderation Posts..
Oh well.
Won't bother again.
