My apologies to the kind Penax girls.

My Idea came out from PAC-MAN that don't exist in the PAC-GIRL version.
Now is too late for a girl-dedicated idea but I promise that I will compensate the next year.

It actually did and was called Ms. Pacman. It was also way better than the original. There was also a Baby Pacman, Pacman Jr and a version that fused the video game with pinball. Weird that it still held onto the PacMAN title while being a woman. I suppose they were trying to maintain the recognizable branding.

I'm ashamed to admit, I never really paid any attention to female equality until I had a daughter. Now, I tend to notice these things a lot more.

The problem here is that English evolved with 'man' standing for 'person' or 'human'. We see this issue regularly with words such as 'policeman', 'fireman', 'mailman', etc.; we usually finesse this issue one word at a time, with terms such as 'police officer', 'fire fighter', and 'mail carrier', We have not yet come up with a word, such as 'mun', to stand for a human of unspecified gender. Incidentally, I have two daughters.

Nothing, I think, changes ones perspective quite so drastically as having a child. Having a daughter changed my whole world. Best thing that ever happened to me besides meeting her mother.

Wasn't trying to raise an issue; simply saying that I for one, would not wear a shirt saying Pentax Man. I'm quite sure there are quite a few ladies on the forum that feel the same way; even though it's not about "equality", etc., just not wanting to be a gal in a "dedicated" man's shirt.

Quite right. My apologies for derailing the conversation. Do go on.

Go get 'em, girls

Let this be a lesson to all... Do not mess with the ladies here on PentaxForums - they mean business!

Perhaps offering 2 versions of that shirt reading "Pentax guy" and "Pentax girl" would be more appropriate

If you're going to say "guy" in one the other should probably say "gal"?

I believe someone should consider creating a design emphasizing Pentax's 100th anniversary next year and or Pentax forums anniversary. Will Pentax forums be 13 years old? I see that it says 2006-2018 on the bottom of the page but I thought it was older. For this design the text could read 100 years of excellence, 13 years of community, or something along the lines of emphasizing both anniversaries. I was going to create a design like this but I don't believe I have the time. Perhaps this idea would be better for next year's shirts anyway.

Agreed. "Girl" kind of seems like it's for a youngster; whereas "gal" fits all ages.
