As many of you know, I've been posting madly to help us reach the monthly limit. Yes, I'm going to enter the raffle. (By the way, I received an email about this month's raffle, even though we haven't reached 40,000 posts. Does that mean it will take place anyway?)

So, as I said, I'm going to enter the raffle. I'm American, but I haven't lived in the States for several years. If I win, is there any way the K-1 can be sent from a Pentax dealer in Europe so that I don't have to pay the outrageous customs fees? They're so high that it would, as far as I can tell, be cheaper for me to buy a K-1 myself. Really, it's that bad.

The giveaway is global and shipping is included, but if you look at the info page the winner must pay customs fees.

How does the customs fee work, OP? Would it really be over $1,000? I can't imagine it would be more than $100 at the very most, but that's just an uneducated guess...

Those were Giveaways for June.
Once we reach 40,000 posts, Adam will create similar threads for this month, except Adam has already said there will be four threads, each like the third thread last month

Most likely some time in the next 24 hours, Adam will post several places telling exactly how the "raffle" will work this month.

It would be about $400 taxes and duties for a UK winner, for instance

On the one hand, I keep telling myself that if I won I'd effectively be getting a K-1 for about £400. On the other hand, I really can't spare the £400.

Adam will chime in, but I remember reading a post of his in which he said the K-1 would probably be shipped from europe for an eventual european winner...
