When I got up to pee last night I stopped by my computer and there were people posting to "anything that moved". This has drawn out a lot of lurkers who have been members since I joined back in 2014 and some had less than 40 post over that time so maybe this will get them sticking around to participate here at Pentax Forums instead of that other forum.

For next month, in addition the 10 posts, maybe require one or two “likes” (require 2 given / 1 received?) such that we make sure the participation is meaningful.

you mean as opposed to current members with post-counts at 200+ per day that equate to gibberish?

the best thing to come from that is I get to add to my 'ignore' lists...

I have no problem with tightening up the rules but no idea how to do it

" likes " can be traded

A " serious " post [ instead of gibberish ] is like beauty - it is determined by the eye of the beholder

Adam, I think, is doing the best that can be done and it looks like the July raffle will be much clearer to understand and to run

yes, I have posted more daily since the contests started

but I tried to mix posting photos and commenting on serious threads and non serious threads as well

but I don't think I broke the century mark on any given day

Now you're adding complication but I do think showing up a day or so before the raffle and doing 10 quick posts is a bit of cherry picking.

Big Time

you control how many times you post in the month

then it may depend on your computer and internet connection to get into the raffle

and then it is pure random luck to win

OTOH, you don't have to play and it cost nothing for you to try

Fair enough.

This one might actually be easier to get into because it's on a Monday. (I think June's was a Saturday) I'm in Eastern Daylight Saving time, so my windows would be: 1AM (not on a work night), 7 AM (on the bus to work clinging for dear life, so no...), 1PM (at work, no internet access) and 7PM. Non-issue for me since I had no intention to enter anyway.

I fall into that lurker category, been around for a couple years. This contest has made me post more, that's a good thing. I bet I don't have 100 posts all together. However, I could never afford a K1 now that i'm retired so I'll try to win one. I have several full frame lenses so wouldn't require new glass to start. I have learned so much from this forum, crazy the amount of knowledge out here.
