I'd keep it, use it, and not get a KP .... to me, anything less would be disrespectful of Adam's generosity.

I'm not sure. I will for sure try it, but don't know i i'll keep it, or sell and and buy KP or K3 III.
I think i don't realy neeed FF, but quite often i have to crop and 24MP from APSC is better, than 36 from FF in that case. I also will have more use of more FPS with K3/KP, than K1. But it's K1, so maybe i'll leave it?
And if some money will stay, i will buy some lens probably.

BTW: This thread is not news or rumor i think.

I would sell it here for a knock-down price raffle-style and use the proceeds for a GR (III hopefully by then) - everyone's a winner...

I will be keeping my K1. My film era lenses would be used as Asahi intended them to be used for the first time in over a decade.

I will convert my current K1 to monochrome (removal of the CFA layer) and use the new K1 for color photgraphs

Keep it and upgrade it to a mark 2, if there still is time.
That would be my choice as well, especially since I already have a K-1.

First I wouldcharge battery. load DA 50/1.8, two SD cards, base set up menu options. Then I would take one shoot of my current K-70 and go out shooting.
Second day I would order DFA 15-30... and second battery.

It would become my daily driver. The K5 could become the backup.
Yep. That.

Quite feasible, actually (at least here in the US at the moment)

for bodies only, priced at B&H a few minutes ago:

price of KP: $870 (claimed to be $200 off)

price of K-1 MkII: $1897 (claimed to be $100 off)

Thus a pair of KPs would set you back just $1740. You’ll have $150 left over for a cheap lens.

Better act fast, though - pricing claimed to be good only until August 31 - before the camera raffle, I’m afraid - so plan ahead if you are going to be the winner!!!

Keep it and use it!

My k5iis would likely end up as a permanent backup. I have a couple of projects in mind that would enjoy the higher resolution and pixel shift abilities of the K-1. I have no plans to buy a K-1 anytime soon, but I'd still use the money I "saved" by not having to buy one to make some stupidly large prints.

I'd probably sell my K-5 IIs and original K-5, and have fun with my brand new K-1. Maybe even fork over the $550 to get it upgraded to a K-1 II if we don't reach that point. (Seriously, I really need this...)

Ok - fair enough - here in the Uk, the KP is still GBP999 - and I was assuming a K-1...
