Congrats on the win!

Nice job on the video! Your a great presenter and the K5 is more capable with video than I thought. I currently shoot the K5IIs and have never shot video with it. May have to give it a try.

I will watch your "discovery" thread with interest as I am curious about how the K5 and K1II compare with crop lenses and vintage full frame.

Have a great one!

Thank you Dave. You'll have to give it a whirl when you come visit NZ.

Thank you! Yes, give it a go. I was as surprised as you!

I'll add to that thread as I find out stuff. I've also been shooting the same stuff with both K-5 and K-1ii to see how the shots compare. The resolution of the K-1ii is amazing. And I've not tried pixel-shift yet!

Hi All

So, the K-1ii arrived yesterday. I used the K-5 to shoot the unboxing video. Please excuse the quality of the sound - I'm no videographer!

A huge thank you to Adam and Pentaxforums.com for making this possible.

KInd regards,
Mark
A MUCH better unboxing video than mine was.

Congrats. You will love the K-1

I also had the K-5 until I upgraded this year. Loved my K-5 but K-1 is just a great step up..

Nothing wrong with your video! How are you finding the K-1?

I am enjoying it. I do a lot of night photography and there are feature on it that just make it easier. For instance, taking long exposure in Bulb. In the past, I would have to time my shot because I had no way to set it. Now w/ the K-1 I can set the timer for up to 5 minutes. Even without AstroTracer.

I use Live View a lot more than I did with the K-5.

That's really neat. It's like film days. Except better.

Hi Mark

One day I'll get over the ditch
I would like to see "the Catlins" area
I would need to use the ferry from your area

The Catlins is a beautiful area. We stayed around there in a camper van back in late February/early March and were very struck by places like Curio Bay, which is almost as far south as you can go on the South Island. The foreshore at Curio Bay is a petrified forest and they are regenerating a live natural forest area just a short walk away. It’s all breathtaking.

Very rugged area. I've not been there for 10+ years.
