So, what did we learn from this....

With all the posts these past few months, it would be interesting to see what we each learned through the extra time on the Forums. We may learn even more!

For me, it was a few new functions within the K-1, that I never knew were there! What else....?

1. Potential product is always popular.
2. Free swag is always popular. Free swag of significant value all the more so.

Put #1 & #2 together and you have recipe for a hot promotion. Heck, I'm excited for the potential of bagging
a K-New, far above and beyond the joy of speculating what the K-New might actually be. Whether I actually learned
anything is largely irrelevant; I had a good time speculating and bantering in the process.

I had fun seeing what people did on some threads that I launched based on colour themes, so I learned that ywhen ou put more in, you get more out!

That there are still people more interested in images than hardware, but boy do the others grind on about the hardware. Also, there are more esoteric technicalities associated with using your camera on a tripod than it took to put a man on the moon...

Many people in here haven't yet disovered the real Pentax equipment potential. I believe that and I don't even bother answering any more...

I am positively surprised about KP ownership here. It was not so popular but reversion definitely happened

I think the only thing I learned is that some members have no shame in spamming as many threads as they possibly can, spoiling others' enjoyment of the forum to increase their chances of winning a prize.

I hope PF finds an alternative way to run such things in the future.

We learn lots from the forum when new to the forum. Most interesting parts are lens reviews and discussions about image post processing section, some people have deep knowledge about post processing. For cameras, knowing our own wants and understanding specifications doesn't require arguing in various threads. A lot of the learning via own experimentation with photographic activity anyway, learning by doing is the best.

you could always post what you want and where you want

and if you don't like the idea of the contest - don't enter any

the posts might qualify you but you still need to post in the contest thread to have a chance to win

maybe I'm a slow learner but I continue to learn from the forums having been active here for a few years

and I believe I still have a lot to learn and a lot that I will learn from the other posters' efforts

I can be very talkative at times.

I discovered that many regulars here want Pentax to stay exactly what it has been for the last dozen or so years - a supplier of inexpensive "APS-C" DSLRs. I have also discovered that many equate "quality" with "lots of detail" i.e., "high mp count". I probably responded a few extra times because of the GiveAway. I posted more often than usual in the PYP! section to keep low count photos on the first page, but that means I looked and looked at a lot of photos, and I really did see good in many of them.
