Just wanted to say that Precision Camera got my K50 back last week. I had sent it out on January 5th and I got it back on February 23rd. The aperture failure seems to have been fixed and they claim to have replaced the LCD panel, which seems about right since the scratch I remember is not there. It was done under warranty even though I purchased it from one of Amazon's non-Pentax official companies. The only issue is that I now have to compensate -1.2 to avoid overexposure in multi point metering. This is consistent over three lenses- Pentax 15mm SMC, Sigma 70mm macro, and Porst 55mm 1.2 (that has used +.8 compensation but now is close at the nominal 0 level). Oddly, if I spot meter over what I'm interested in, it seems to be correct at the 0 compensation level. They did say that they updated the firmware, so who knows. In any case, I'm not sending it back. I just want to use my good lenses as spring comes and the flowers begin to bloom. Thanks for all your support while I was wringing my hands over this.

I've always had to dial in a pretty big compensation for the 15mm (more for the K, less for the A), so I don't think the camera is necessarily to blame there. Keep us posted Happy to hear you got everything covered under warranty.
