I recently replaced the green aperture control block in a K50 with a white aperture control block purchased on eBay. So far it works well. It turned out to be easy to replace.

Although this thread is 7 months old, this topic is current to many members. I have a lightly used K-S2 that I am gifting to my cousin who has shown interest in DSLR photography and feel that is an excellent starter camera for her to devfelop on. Enough advanced features to help her advance her interest, while providing remedial controls (i.e., scene icons) to keep her interest and produce decent images. I am concerned that after she has this for awhile that it will fail, causing an issue.

In addition to the repairs made, the questions become:

1. When did the freeze up occue (how many shutter clicks and/or age of the camera)

2. Who did the repair?

3. How much did it cost?

4. Has the problem reoccurred since the repair?

Been about 2 years on the repair now with no issues. Precision Camera did the repair with about 2000 shots on the body. $180.00 was the repair cost.

That appears to be reasonable, and the fact it is holding solidly means you're probably not facing that issue again.
