Problem with battery grip for K 5

Just Saturday the battery grip refused to communicate with the camera. When I removed it I discovered that one of the gold-plated spring loaded connectors has apparently jammed and can't make contact with the socket in the camera. I'm hesitant to push it further in to perhaps free it, I may try a gentle pull with tweezers. Anyone out there have had this problem??

Quite a few have had issues with this. See for instance: Grip Pins - PentaxForums.com

This thread offers good advice: Stuck contact pin on D-BG4 - PentaxForums.com

It seems a slight fiddle with a small pin or paperclip may sometimes fix it. Some users have used more drastic measures with mixed results.

If there is still some of the pin sticking out, then pull it out for sure rather than push it in and hope it springs back. Once pulled out straighten the pin. They can get slightly bent over time and that is usually the root cause of them sticking.

Worth a try! I hope I can get a grip on it with tweezers....

FleaBay shows a number of grips, most seem to be knock-offs. Worst case....
